Update Pending...

Service Pack 10

Since the 202x version has been delayed for technical reasons, I've decided to resume work on the version of ASE currently in use. There a variety of areas that have been identified for improvement or repair in the next version. Some of those changes can be reflected in the current 2017 sp9 version.

What To Expect

Like I've mentioned to others recently, I'll be starting with user interface issues (menu, ribbon, etc.). For example:

  • New transparent icons

  • Command names now visible

  • Panels & buttons rearranged

  • Missing icons restored & redesigned

  • Broken command macros repaired

The ribbon has been a mess for a while, but that's changing, finally...

Functional Changes

At the start, this will be minimal, but continuous. Functional repairs and changes will primarily involve resolving issues that have plagued & frustrated clients considerably, such as the infamous "Productivity" setting for Flow Labels auto-creation with new Constraint. That one is a "biggie".

What's Most Important

ASE Civil has not offered updates for several years. I've learned quite a bit in that time and I'm anxious to reflect my newfound capabilities in my application.

In addition, this next update will mark the beginning of a new stream of updates that will keep clients moving forward with ASE Civil, while making the system more reliable and ergonomically-easier to work with & understand.

More Reference Information Online

Every application needs complete, thorough reference material sufficient to assist anyone without the need for product support. As you browse the pages you'll see various areas where new info has been added or pages errors have been corrected or updated.

Availability

Check back on 5/21 to see if SP 10 is available for download yet. I'll keep the forum updated so you'll know what's up.
